ARRAZI Graphics and Reports Migration

In 2020, SABIC KSA awarded EMI a major contract focused on modernizing the visualization and reporting infrastructure at the ARRAZI plant. The primary objective was to transition legacy DCS graphics from multiple vendor platforms, into modern, interactive PI Vision displays. This migration was critical for enhancing operator experience, improving data accessibility, and streamlining plant monitoring

EMI undertook the development of an extensive Asset Framework (AF) hierarchy designed to accurately represent the plant’s complex assets and operational processes. This structured approach enabled efficient management and correlation of data, which facilitated advanced performance monitoring and alerting capabilities. A key component of the project was the creation of operational and performance calculation tags integrated into dynamic reports and notifications. EMI converted legacy PIMS Excel reports into PI Datalink formats, modernizing SABIC’s reporting tools to deliver real-time, data-driven insights.

Through these efforts, EMI improved notification management by implementing PI Notifications based on the AF hierarchy, allowing for timely and precise alerts that enhanced operational responsiveness. The overall solution increased operational awareness and supported SABIC’s ongoing digital transformation by delivering a scalable, user-friendly monitoring platform.
