ADNOC Gas Processing Data Diode & PI ImplementationIn 2023, EMI was awarded a critical project for ADNOC Gas Processing in Abu Dhabi aimed at securing and optimizing data communication by implementing Data Diode technology alongside enhanced PI System integration. This project focused on securing data flow from Level 4 site OPC servers to headquarters through one-way Data Diode technology, ensuring robust cybersecurity while maintaining high availability of real-time process data. |
EMI configured OSI PI OPC Interfaces to communicate effectively with OWL RED OSTS OPC Servers situated behind the Data Diode, reconfigured thousands of tags on the existing PI Server to maintain data integrity and conducted rigorous Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) to validate system performance. The challenge was to integrate PI OPC Interfaces with the Data Diode’s secure, one-way transmission capabilities without disrupting ongoing operations, while maintaining reliable communications despite the additional security layers. EMI’s solution involved meticulous configuration of DCOM settings, modification of PI interfaces to accommodate the Data Diode, and comprehensive testing and troubleshooting to ensure seamless data flow and system robustness. The project resulted in a secure and reliable data transmission system that enhanced ADNOC’s cybersecurity posture without compromising operational data availability.
