EQUATE - PI Logger Development Project

In 2022, EMI was awarded a project by EQUATE to modernize and upgrade the PI Logger application. The project involved converting the legacy PI Logger, originally hosted on SharePoint, into a more robust, scalable web-based solution using MVC architecture. This transition significantly improved application performance, security, and maintainability. EMI ensured seamless integration with the PI System to allow efficient data entry and retrieval. A major focus was on delivering an intuitive and responsive user interface that caters to operators and engineers across departments with varied usage patterns. 

The application also supports role-based access control to maintain security and usability.

Challenges included migrating business logic and workflows from the SharePoint environment while ensuring secure and high-performance communication with the PI System. EMI addressed these by developing a full-stack MVC solution with secure PI Data Archive connections and rigorous testing to guarantee data integrity and operational continuity.
