DALEEL – PI Migration ServicesIn 2023, Daleel Petroleum extended its strategic partnership with EMI by signing a new three-year support contract focused on the full migration and enhancement of its PI System infrastructure. Recognizing the critical importance of reliable and scalable data management for upstream oil and gas operations, Daleel entrusted EMI to deliver a robust upgrade that would ensure long-term system sustainability, performance, and operational insight. The project began with migrating Daleel’s existing PI System to a more updated and stable infrastructure, designed to support increasing data loads and advanced visualization needs. |
EMI meticulously installed and configured the PI Data Archive server and integrated a suite of OPC DA and HDA interfaces, leveraging Matrikon products where necessary to guarantee compatibility and seamless data acquisition from multiple sources, including legacy systems. A key focus was building a comprehensive and scalable PI Asset Framework (AF) structure that mirrored Daleel’s operational asset hierarchy, providing contextualized, organized, and actionable data to engineers and operators. EMI’s team rebuilt and optimized the PI Tag Database to enhance system reliability and streamline data management workflows.

Throughout the engagement, EMI emphasized minimizing downtime and operational disruption. A critical success factor was the delivery of detailed training and capacity-building sessions tailored for Daleel’s in-house teams, empowering them to manage, troubleshoot, and further develop the PI System autonomously. By the project’s completion, Daleel benefited from a fully functional and reliable PI System aligned with its operational requirements, significantly improving asset visibility, operational efficiency, and troubleshooting speed. The signed three-year support contract ensures ongoing optimization, system health monitoring, and digital evolution partnership between EMI and Daleel, positioning Daleel for sustained growth and innovation in its upstream operations. |
