ADNOC Onshore

PI Services & ADNOC Offshore Data Validation Workflow
Between 2022 and 2023, EMI was awarded two critical projects by ADNOC to improve data management, visualization, and validation workflows for both Onshore and Offshore operations in the UAE. The Onshore project focused on building a comprehensive PI Asset Framework (AF) hierarchy that spans multiple sites. This included developing advanced calculations within AF and integrating these calculations into PI Vision graphics to enhance operational dashboards, providing users with intuitive and actionable insights.

Simultaneously, the Offshore project concentrated on identifying and implementing data validation workflows alongside end-users and multidisciplinary engineering teams. These workflows were designed to support reservoir and well monitoring applications, thereby optimizing reservoir performance and production efficiency. Both projects required detailed coordination across diverse business units and technical disciplines to ensure tools and dashboards accurately reflected operational realities and delivered reliable data for critical decisions.

Challenges included managing requirements across multiple sites with varying needs, integrating complex calculations into AF while ensuring seamless visualization, collaborating closely with reservoir, production, and maintenance teams offshore, and maintaining stringent data integrity standards. EMI’s approach involved extensive on-site workshops, collaborative system design, and iterative testing to align solutions with user expectations. The resulting deliverables empowered ADNOC with enhanced real-time monitoring dashboards onshore and robust validation workflows offshore, enabling better decision-making, operational insight, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to drive asset optimization across the company’s vast operational footprint.
