SABIC – Long-Term PI System Support ContractSABIC entrusted EMI with a critical 5-year contract to provide comprehensive support and lifecycle management for its extensive PI System infrastructure, covering SABIC and its affiliates. This strategic partnership focuses on maintaining maximum system reliability, performance, and scalability throughout SABIC’s industrial network, including a resident engineering presence at the SABIC HQ in Al-Jubail. EMI’s approach encompasses software maintenance, upgrades aligned with OSIsoft/AVEVA’s latest releases, and continuous technical support available 24/7. |
Given the scale and diversity of SABIC’s operations, EMI tailored its support model to address varying maturity levels across affiliates, ensuring seamless alignment with evolving software standards and patch management. This also included balancing onsite presence with remote support capabilities, allowing rapid issue resolution and proactive system enhancements. In parallel, EMI placed strong emphasis on building internal SABIC capabilities by delivering targeted training and knowledge transfer, fostering autonomy and deeper technical expertise among SABIC engineers and operators.
As part of the contract, EMI actively contributed to SABIC’s digital transformation by deploying new PI Systems at affiliate locations, thereby expanding the PI footprint and driving modernization. Through quarterly system health reviews, EMI ensured continuous improvement in system integrity and performance. This long-term engagement has resulted in a robust, secure, and highly available PI ecosystem critical to SABIC’s operational excellence and innovation goals.
