SE –ADNOC Onshore Buhasa SWAG Pilot CO2 Project

The SE - ME20413 - AON Buhasa SWAG Pilot CO2 Project 2025 is a strategic initiative awarded to EMI by SE to support ADNOC Onshore’s enhanced oil recovery and CO2 monitoring efforts at the Buhasa SWAG (Smart Water Alternating Gas) site. The scope of the project is centered on implementing and configuring advanced PI System components to provide real-time operational visibility, centralized data management, and improved process efficiency.

EMI was tasked with delivering a turnkey solution covering both remote execution and offsite development work. The project involves configuring and deploying 1,400 process data tags on ADNOC’s existing Field Data Integration System (FDIS), ensuring data flows seamlessly to the PI Servers through the current OPC interface. The configured data is visualized using up to 60 customized PI Vision dashboards, enabling operations teams to access, monitor, and analyze CO2 injection parameters and performance metrics efficiently.

Additionally, EMI developed a comprehensive Asset Framework (AF) hierarchy to organize and structure the tag data within the PI System, allowing for consistent and scalable visualization across multiple dashboards. This structure supports data contextualization and simplifies operations monitoring and future expansion. The project also includes the preparation and submission of detailed technical documentation: Functional Design Specification (FDS), Site Acceptance Test (SAT) Procedures, and a Method Statement, ensuring full traceability and adherence to ADNOC’s quality and safety standards. By leveraging its expertise in PI System integration and remote delivery, EMI is enabling ADNOC to track and optimize its CO2 injection processes, contributing to more sustainable and efficient oilfield operations.
