ADNOC HQ-Panorama PI AF and CalculationsIn 2024, EMI was awarded a significant contract by ADNOC HQ in Abu Dhabi to design, develop, and deploy a comprehensive PI Asset Framework (AF) and advanced calculation system to support the HQ Panorama initiative. The project aimed to enhance corporate asset management and operational analytics by covering over 6,000 equipment assets with scalable templates, dynamic calculations, and tailored dashboards. This extensive work involved creating a sophisticated AF hierarchy with linked PI tags, developing 250 medium-to-high complexity PI Vision dashboards, and installing new PI Data Archive and AF infrastructure. |
The project required seamless data migration from existing archives to the new system while ensuring full synchronization and uninterrupted data access. EMI conducted thorough Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), addressing all quality and performance benchmarks. Comprehensive user and administrator training sessions were delivered to empower ADNOC personnel in managing and leveraging the enhanced PI system functionalities. EMI also provided extended Post-Activation and Commissioning support, along with a 24-month warranty that included onsite visits and remote assistance to ensure long-term system stability and client satisfaction.
Key challenges included managing the complexity of a vast AF hierarchy, linking a large number of dashboards to AF attributes, ensuring smooth migration without downtime, and providing effective training and post-deployment support to a diverse user base. EMI’s meticulous planning, remote collaboration, and robust testing ensured successful implementation of a future-proof PI platform that significantly improved ADNOC’s asset monitoring and decision-making capabilities.
